We facilitate educational workshop for our future generations focused on teaching the history and values of Melbourne’s First Peoples, the Boonwurrung, and in turn Melbourne’s rich history. Our Programs are fun, engaging and are committed to celebrating our continuous vibrant living culture, more importantly the significance of Our Shared History. And we absolutely enjoy tailoring each workshop to your request. Each session goes for an hour and accommodates up to 25 students. We welcome the opportunity to combine multiple classes, additionally we are pleased to tailor our services to meet the specific needs of your school.

Yinga Bilang - Songline

We provide a comprehensive series of two to five classes that cover essential topics, including History, Language, Ceremony, Ancestors, and Rituals, all carefully tailored to align with the Secondary school curriculum. Packages can be negotiated.

Marram Biik is an interactive wellbeing seminar led by Jaeden Williams with the focus on Secondary students connecting to their spirit and country. We discuss the importance of self love, how trauma works and how we can prevent and address these things through awareness and encouragement to ask for help

Boonwurrung Seasons

Engage students with the rich cultural heritage of the Boonwurrung people through an immersive exploration of Boonwurrung seasonal knowledge. This program delves into the six distinct Boonwurrung seasons, each marked by unique environmental changes, flora, fauna, and cultural practices. Through interactive lessons, storytelling, and activities, students will gain insights into traditional ecological knowledge and the sustainable practices used by the Boonwurrung to care for Country. This program not only enhances students’ understanding of First Peoples perspectives but also aligns with curriculum goals in environmental science, history, and cultural studies, offering a well-rounded educational experience.

We had such an awesome learning experience with Jaeden. Jaeden managed to connect with a whole cohort of lively year 7 students and keep them interested and engaged throughout the whole session teaching boonwurrung words, intriguing cultural knowledge and also sharing his own life story of growing up, giving the students insight in how to develop the positive behaviours of humbleness, wellbeing and insight. Jaeden taught with such respect, passion and humor and also made the teaching relevant by helping students connect to country and make them aware of the importance of looking after themselves, each other and the environment.
