We recently had the incredible privilege of attending the Indigenous Language Conference, Puliima 2025 on Larrakia Country. It was nothing short of an inspiring experience. Filled with workshops and conversations with language custodians. A beautiful reminder of the ongoing journey to celebrate the languages of our Countries.
The Indigenous Language and Technology Conference brings leaders, educators, and community members to share knowledge, tools, and strategies for keeping First Peoples languages alive and thriving. This resonates with the Biik Bundjil mission deeply which is to embed Boonwurrung culture, history, and language into the learning experiences of future generations, connecting students to Country, ancestors, and living culture.
Our educational workshops are designed to be fun, engaging, and tailored to your school’s needs. They explore the history and values of Melbourne’s First Peoples, celebrating the richness of Boonwurrung culture while teaching the significance of our shared history. Each session runs for an hour and accommodates up to 25 students, with opportunities to combine multiple classes or tailor content to your specific curriculum.
One of our standout offerings is Yinga Bilang – Songline, a comprehensive series of 2–5 classes covering History, Language, Ceremony, Ancestors, and Rituals. All sessions are carefully aligned to the secondary school curriculum, and packages can be negotiated to suit your classroom needs.

Attending Puliima 2025 reminded us that language is the heartbeat of culture, and at Biik Bundjil, we are committed to nurturing that heartbeat in the hearts of the next generation.
