This year’s Kinaway First Peoples Business Awards at Marvel Stadium was a nothing short of magical, a powerful celebration of Aboriginal excellence, connection, and innovation. Surrounded by community on the footy ground, it was an eye-opening look into First Peoples businesses have come, and the strength that continues to drive our collective future.
It was inspiring to see the incredible work being done across the First Peoples business secto, from cultural education and art to health, community, and sustainability. These achievements are about so much more than business, they’re a powerful reflection of our strength, Aboriginal culture, and our unbreakable connection to Country.
As we yarned with organisers about expanding the awards to recognise Education Businesses across Country, we reflected on our own journey at Biik Bundjil. Our work, embedding Boonwurrung culture into classrooms, workplaces, and communities, aligns with the very spirit of Kinaway: empowering First Peoples through knowledge, cultural connection, and opportunity.
Events like the Kinaway Awards remind us why we do what we do, to ensure Boonwurrung culture continues to grow, inspire, and lead the next generation of learners, educators, and change makers.
