Learning with Biik Bundjil: Connecting People to Country Through Culture

At Biik Bundjil, learning is not confined to classrooms — it’s an experience that happens through story, movement, connection, and reflection.
Every program we offer is grounded in Boonwurrung culture, guided by Elders and educators who bring Country, language, and spirit to life in meaningful and accessible ways.

Whether you’re an educator, student, organisation, or community group, there are many ways to walk with us and learn from the world’s oldest living culture.

For Early Learning & Primary Education

Our early learning and primary school workshops are designed to introduce young minds to Boonwurrung history, language, and stories in ways that inspire curiosity and empathy.

From interactive storytelling to hands-on cultural activities, children explore how Country moves through six Boonwurrung seasons, how stories live in song and art, and how connection to land teaches respect for all living things.

Highlights include:

  • Intro to Boonwurrung Culture – An engaging introduction to language, creation stories, and the spirit of Country.

  • Boonwurrung Seasons – Discover the six seasons and the deep ecological knowledge woven into each.

  • Embedding Boonwurrung Culture in Curriculum – A two-part educator workshop building confidence and cultural capability.

  • Kuinkin Manameet Biik (Country That Gives) – A four-part journey through storytelling, art, language, and ceremony, ending in a powerful Celebration Ceremony.

  • Boonwurrung Language & Naming – Authentic language naming for classrooms and learning spaces.

  • Yulendj Learning Resources – Digital cultural learning packs designed for Early Learning and Primary educators.

For Secondary & University Students

For older learners, our programs encourage deeper reflection on identity, shared history, and resilience.
Workshops combine cultural learning with wellbeing, emotional intelligence, and truth-telling — encouraging students to see themselves as part of an ongoing story of Country.

For Organisations & Professional Development

Through guided walks, ceremonies, and performances, we invite you to experience Boonwurrung Country in its truest form — through story, smoke, and sound.

  • Cultural Walks – Explore Boonwurrung Country at St Kilda, Ngargee Tree, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.

  • Smoking Ceremonies – Ancient rituals of welcome and cleansing for events and milestones.

Walking Forward Together

Every Biik Bundjil workshop, performance, and ceremony is guided by a single vision — to embed Boonwurrung culture, language, and values into modern life.
